Getting Started
Every office and department on campus uses print and electronic publications to provide information about programs and courses, announce events, or solicit support. They are relatively inexpensive ways to communicate, whether your goal is to reach a handful of UO colleagues on campus or to connect with thousands of people across the country or around the world. Design and Editing Services can design your project so your message is on target.
But before you begin any publication project, it is best to think through your communication objective, to familiarize yourself with your audience, and to consider the best kinds of publications that will serve your purpose. Thorough and thoughtful planning will make your publications more effective and make the best use of your resources.
A DES designer can collaborate with you to conceptualize projects from beginning to end. As needed, we'll help you define your audiences and determine your marketing needs. We have strategic knowledge and marketing savvy that enable us to help coordinate your communication campaigns.
Initiating your project
When you are ready to start your project, fill out the Job Request Form (username and password are both “jobrequest”). We highly recommend the online version of the form, but there is also a pdf version available.
The information you'll need to fill out the form includes, due date, quantity, index to be charged, delivery instructions, and your contact information.
Your project will be assigned to one of our designers who will be your contact during the design, editing, and printing processes. Please e-mail final copy, photos, and graphics to sdchaney@uoregon.edu.
